Pro Tools 11.1.2 Update

Avid quickly released yet again another update for Pro Tools. The Pro Tools 11.1.2 update isn't a major one but there have been a few resolved issues. Pro Tools 11.1.2 Update

Issues Resolved in the Pro Tools 11.1.2 Update Fixed a case where some plug-ins could not be switched out of bypassed state. (PTSW-191334) Automation now properly interacts with linked plug-in parameters. (PTSW-191139) C|24 HD-specific features are now available when using Pro Tools HD with non-HD hardware, including Aggregate I/O. (PTSW-190882) Automation thinning no longer occurs improperly to breakpoints outside the most recent pass. (PTSW-165583) Pro Tools now correctly extracts audio from imported AAF files. (PTSW-182235) When there are missing files in an open session, mounting a volume no longer causes the Relink dialog to open. (PTSW-191127) Pro Tools no longer quits unexpectedly on launch with networked home folders via OS X Open Directory. Authorization

  • Pro Tools 11.1.2 software requires a Pro Tools 11 iLok authorization (license) to run
  • Pro Tools HD 11.1.2 software requires both Pro Tools 11 and Pro Tools HD 11 iLok authorizations (licenses) to run
  • Review the licenses on your iLok at ilok.com or in iLok License Manager
  • See the Support section of ilok.com for assistance with iLok License Manager, your iLok account, etc.

Installation

  • Pro Tools 11.1.2 is a full installer
  • If Pro Tools 11.0-11.1.1 is currently installed on Mac, Avid recommends selecting "Replace" when updating to version 11.1.2
  • Install the latest compatible Drivers for your Avid hardware
  • Pro Tools 11.1.2 uses a single installer for both Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD. The installation is the same for both, only the iLok authorization is different

  • The Pro Tools application is not automatically added to the Dock on Mac OS X, but can be manually added by dragging the application icon to the Dock

Co-Installation

  • Co-install of Pro Tools 11.1.2 and Media Composer does not allow Media Composer to be a Video Satellite (details)
  • Co-installing Pro Tools 11 with Pro Tools 10.3.6 or higher, do NOT update to HD 11 Drivers if using HD Accel TDM hardware

HDX Firmware Update

  • Pro Tools 11.1.x requires a firmware update for HDX cards
  • Firmware update takes place during Pro Tools launch
  • The firmware update was tested for backwards compatibility with Pro Tools 10.3.6 and later
